The primary objective of the Regional CPB AML team is to pro-actively develop, monitor, and oversee potential AML risks within the Private Bank, keep senior management apprised of the levels of new AML risk, and advise the business owners concerning methods and controls to manage that risk. 

This position will be working to enhance the AML function for CPB Regional ACRM. The direct provision of ACRM support to CPB bankers, management, operations, and audit will be required as well as initial review of alerts raised by the monitoring team (for possible escalation to CPB FIU/Sanctions/other relevant teams). Additional direct interaction with audit teams, regulators, and industry groups is also expected. A focus on supporting the ongoing consolidation and simplification of region wide AML guidance notes and policy will be expected.

The AML officer will play a key role in coordinating the resulting information and input from the AML and business teams.
  • Assist with implementing technology requirements and support the development, design and reporting process for Senior Management
  • Supports and assists the CPB management and bankers in day to day AML advisory support. This includes making risk decisions in situations where incomplete information may be present
  • Evaluating alerts and escalations from bankers, CPB management, and monitoring teams on potential ML events, and opining on whether no action, escalation to CPB FIU, or immediate reporting is required
  • Work closely with the Regional Sector AML and the Regional AML Team in effectively managing AML/Sanction risks across CPB APAC
  • Participate meaningfully in global/regional AML initiatives to enhance and/or improve controls in the relevant business and/or across all Citi businesses, as applicable
  • Preparing materials for, and engaging with, internal committees, senior management meetings, audit engagements, and regulatory reviews
  • Assist with input to MIS/Dashboard reporting of Regional AML issues, and any other reports as may be required
  • Keeps abreast of new trends and developments in the field of AML as well as of legal/regulatory changes.
  • Develops strong governance oversight and proactively manages risks
  • Ability to identify, assess and address emerging risks/trends
  • Acquires experience in the guidance and training of AML/Compliance Officers
  • Acquire experience in the products, services, and risk management of Private Banking operations
  • Acquires subject-matter expertise to advice business and senior management on AML typologies, issues and trends


  • Recommended (8) years in the financial services or related industries
  • Recommended (4) years in Compliance and/or Sanctions/AML Compliance and/or legal, audit, risk management roles
  • Good analytical, process management and implementation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with cross functional teams, management and front line associates
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Citi Global AML Policies and Control standards and policies, as well as the relevant Global Sector AML Program and policies
  • Familiar with AML typologies and risks associated with the relevant Citi business
  • Ability to use programming/computer packages to perform data mining and data analytics
  • Familiar with Citi AML systems (Quickscreen MANTAS)
  • Ability to interface and partner with Compliance/AML/Control/Technology/Operations and Business across countries
  • Ability to multi-task and execute tasks with a sense of urgency and with the ultimate goal of delivering tasks on time
  • Experience in producing and/or designing standard, cross category reporting packages for AML metrics
  • Experience with and previous exposure to internal control functions and regulators within the US, and in particular banking and AML regulators
