SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

KYC Review responsibilities include conducting a full review of the existing clients based on designated portfolio in corporation with the business lines, the Worldwide KYC network, compliance, and the relevant support function. The task includes but not limited to liaising with all involved stakeholders, to coordinate reviews, perform KYC making and checking of production in line with Societe Generale's procedures & policies, as well as current standards of regulations. The KYC review team is split into four major functions

  • KYC analysis (making)
  • Quality Assurance
  • Trigger Events, and
  • Facilitation. Higher risk files are performed onshore while a team in Bangalore supports the lower risk files


Primary Objectives:

As a team lead for KYC Reviews Analysis
  • Manage ECM production team and help maintain stability and motivation
  • Manage KYC production pipeline and coordinate with relevant stakeholders on finalization of portfolio
  • Take the lead in capacity planning exercise and ensure that production team is adequately resourced
  • Allocate review files to respective analysts, and ensure a stable portfolio
  • Assess capacity bottlenecks and perform portfolio re-balancing, as required
  • Support individual team members on KYC analysis work, including understanding key challenges faced by the team to help push review completions
  • Be a subject matter expert of KYC policies and procedures and provide guidance to the team in support of KYC analysis. Ensure that review members are fully trained and equipped as KYC analysts
  • Ensure smooth review production process and assist analysts in completing and revalidating KYC information, including the validation of client data management system
  • Develop cooperation with KYC Facilitation Teams, Compliance Teams, the Worldwide KYC network to ensure a smoother process and a better Client Experience
  • Supervise monthly Permanent Supervision of all cases reviewed in ASIA and monitor subsequent corrective actions in the provided timeframe
  • Liaise with project team to deliver KPIs and KRIs, conduct analysis of the related KPIs/KRIs to check problem areas and provide recommendations to make the process more efficient
  • Ensure enquiries related to KYC/AML are handled in a timely manner
  • Structure and Deliver KYC trainings on a regular and adhoc basis to improve quality control statistics throughout the year
  • Identify, resolve issues/challenges of the production team and escalate major issues, as necessary, to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Other tasks as directed by the Head of KYC ECM or Senior management/Compliance
Major Accountabilities / Principal Responsibilities:
  • Deliver review targets
  • Support the Head of KYC ECM in relation to production reporting and related matters
  • Provide full support and guidance to the team to complete reviews
  • Assist in managing a dedicated mailbox for the review process
  • Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders - PCRU/Front Office, Compliance, KYC worldwide network
  • Comply with all Risk and regulatory obligations where relevant


Key Skill Areas & Knowledge Required:

  • Prior experience in KYC reviews or related processes in a broker or investment bank environment - good knowledge of at least one of the following is necessary: product and service offering, customer base, regulatory environment
  • Transversal knowledge of the services and products of the corporate and investment banking sector. Specific knowledge of SG group is an advantage
  • Ability to understand the structure of a financial transaction, understanding of key issues in relation to AML risk, ability to identify relevant sources of information
  • Familiarity with local AML / KYC regulatory and compliance issues
  • Analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work within tight and changeable timeframes. Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage relationships with the local BL and compliance with minimum supervision

  • Analytical skills, precision, curiosity, tenacity and autonomy are key qualities in a KYC Analyst job
  • Fluent in written and spoken English language. Fluency in Chinese preferred
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, reactivity, sense of service, anticipation and flexibility are essential requirements in this service function
