Roles and Responsibilities:
  • As the Sanctions Compliance Lead for Citi Singapore, advise on and have oversight of the sanctions program for the franchise.
  • Oversee and advise on controls and procedures implemented by all business units (Retail, Wholesale and Private Bank). Where enhancements are needed, to work closely with the business to ensure any gaps are closed. 
  • Perform Level 2 sanctions match dispositions for both customer and transaction level, including working with businesses to execute prompt action upon identification of positive match
  • Co-ordinate and work with businesses on annual Sanctions Risk Assessment survey
  • Co-ordinate and work with businesses on Sanctions Product Risk Assessments, where needed
  • Maintain local lists used for customer and transaction screening, ensuring controls are adhered to.
  • Review procedure documents
  • Keep up to date with all sanctions regulations and global policy requirements
  • Manage the execution of Manager's Control Assessment
  • Manage audits
  • Manage the implementation of Ad hoc projects
  • Work closely with Regional Sanctions Compliance on regional/global initiatives


  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface and partner with Citi businesses in Singapore
  • Strong understanding of business and their processes
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively (both autonomously and as member of dynamic team) and manage multiple/varied projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, particularly in the context of delivering clear and concise advice, recommendations and/or feedback
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must be familiar with:
  • Singapore and U.S. sanctions laws and regulations
  • AML and related MAS regulations e.g. MAS 626, Bank Secrecy Act, Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) requirements
  • Graduate Degree from a recognized university (Accountancy, Banking, Business, Economics or Law) or relevant professional qualification
Minimum seven years of experience with at least two (2) years' experience in:
  • Conducting investigations, including open source research, with the aim of dispositioning potential sanctions matches
  • Familiar with AML/sanctions typologies and risks associated with banking
