Reporting directly to the Compliance & Controls Assistant Manager
You will be part of a team responsible for the preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations that are complete and fit for business use. A pivotal part of the role will be building strong relationships with all key stakeholders, in particular with the Accounts Payable team to help reduce the Company’s exposure to bad/doubtful debts and investigation of Debit balances. Accuracy and adherence to both monthly deadlines and Company policies is essential.

 

What you will be doing

Production of accurate and timely monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations. Reconciliations should be checked for completeness prior to sending for review.
Take steps to thoroughly understand the content of the reconciliations assigned to you.
Support the Controls & Compliance Assistant Manager with month end activities including the production of KPI reports issued to the business.
Work with Finance colleagues to provide & collect the necessary information to support Balance Sheet reconciliations. 
Work with AP team to identify and clear all debit balances on the Creditors ledger. Develop action plans to either fully recover within a reasonable timescale or recommend alternative action.
Fully participate in the implementation of a new GRNI process. Transactions should be match and cleared down on a timely basis. 
Ensure all internal controls are fully adhered to and make suggestions for improvement.
Ensure records are accurate and maintained to meet audit and statutory requirements.
Help Identify process weaknesses and suggest improvements.
Liaise with the wider Finance team to develop meaningful month-end reports including accruals information.
Identify duplicate invoice’s using the Accounts Payable forensic tool, taking remedial action and escalating as necessary.
Undertake other adhoc activities as deemed necessary.
