Assistant Accounts Payable Manager - Finance Centre, Boldon The Assistant Accounts Payable Manager will support the Accounts Payable Manager in all aspects of managing the Accounts Payable team, including motivating and leading the team, maintaining high standards, to ensure that Inchcape is compliant in meeting its financial obligations to suppliers and optimises its working capital by providing visibility of forecast payments. This role will work in close cooperation with internal operational customers, the Procurement team, OEMs, key suppliers, and Shared Services colleagues to ensure the efficient processing and management of purchase invoices, supplier payments and queries. Main Responsibilities Responsible for a number of AP Team Leaders and Payments Team Leaders, providing support, guidance and leading by example to ensure full ownership and accountability for invoice processing, payments, supplier queries and dispute resolution Support and act as a deputy for the Accounts Payable Manager where required and appropriate Monitor team performance through daily, weekly and monthly KPIs and reporting which are distributed across the wider business Ownership of relevant AP General Ledger balances, ensuring they are fully reconciled, clean and explainable Drive a culture of continuous improvement through root cause analysis, data gathering and problem solving Work with Finance colleagues to forecast AP and cash payments on a weekly / monthly basis as required The Ideal Candidate Customer Focus Ability to develop good working relationships with internal customers and stakeholders Connects customer needs to internal business processes Takes full ownership and accountability of issues to resolution Operational Focus Experience of leading large AP teams that deliver to high standards Ability to drive a culture of compliance, role modelling high standards of personal and professional integrity Ability to find simple solutions for complex problems and work effectively to resolve supplier issues and drive win-win outcomes Business Focus Optimises working capital requirements (payments) through effective processes and forecasting Works closely with Procurement to ensure efficient supplier set up and adherence to procurement policies People Focus Experience of motivating and leading teams, creating an enjoyable and rewarding working environment Advocate for people development and experience of job rotations in order to build a multi-skilled team Revenue Focus Ability to see the bigger picture, connecting invoice processing and the optimisation of working capital to the overall performance and competitiveness of the business Style & Culture Fit The culture and nature of the role requires a continuous improvement mind-set, always looking to deliver to the highest standards and operating to the highest levels of personal and professional integrity.
