Venrec are pleased to be recruiting for a full time bookkeeper and accounts assistant on behalf of our client; an established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Maidstone , Kent The role entails; Providing bookkeeping services for the firm's clients, whether consisting of recording from manual records or working with computerised accounting software Preparation of client VAT returns and related analysis work Undertaking external bookkeeping and VAT return assignments on behalf of the firm's clients Providing basic accounting support and assistance to other staff members A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience; Have sufficient experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting to be able to work unsupervised on assignments Competence in the use of Sage 50, Sage Business Cloud, QuickBooks and Xero Comfortable with working with incomplete records and using Microsoft Excel and other basic office software Attention to detail and time management is important Good communication skills and a friendly approach with clients Have an understanding of what is required in a busy professional accounting practice on a day to day basis Approach each assignment methodically, and work efficiently to the end goal Ability to work in a team, or on your own, as necessary according to the particular task involved Salary is up to £22,000 depending on experience Part time candidates will also be considered
