This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to join his major Sussex employer on a 5-6 month contract, as a Financial Analyst. As a Financial Analyst you will establish and maintain tight financial controls on spend and benefits across a portfolio providing challenge, validation and reporting of the financial benefits and tracking any extraneous adverse cost.
• To manage the financial cost and benefit accounting and processes for a range of Transformation projects within the portfolio to ensure accuracy within a robust and effective control environment. This will include the financial costs and deliverables around external PTO resources inc Contractors and Consultancies validating the scope and receipt of billable work.
• Define and agree with Finance the Earning rules for Opex and Capex and provide regularised financial cost and benefit information to the Programme Transformation Portfolio Office (PTO), Transcom, The Board and any other required stakeholders on request including the provision and presentation of that information in a variety of formats.
• Ensure alignment with wider accounting policies and principles
• Provision of historic and forecast analysis of spend and financial (cashable and non-cashable) including tracking against previous year/mths and future budgets. Knowledge/experience:
• Degree educated with a Post-graduate qualification in financial management discipline.
• Must be a qualified Accountant, holding relevant recognised professional qualifications:
• Knowledge of governance and risk control
• Excellent understanding and expertise in financial, treasury and tax environments
• SAP/Excel skills
• Effective planning and project management skills
• Significant understanding the implications of change and how to implement.
• Understanding multiple data inputs and complex processes
• Strong team player with good organisation, planning and leadership skills, with ability to prioritise own workload and achieve deadlines and work to targets.
• Strong task focus and orientation
