Dalton Recruitment has been asked by a leading FTSE organisation to secure the services of an experienced Payroll professional to lead the team (3 people) in the smooth and effective delivery of the company's employee payrolls while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. The Team Leader will deliver a robust payroll operation for the clients' large employee base across the UK & ROI, providing excellent customer service to all the business units in line with agreed performance levels. The position will suit someone with excellent team leadership skills combined with demonstrable in-house payroll experience processing large, complex payrolls within a multi-site corporate environment. Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly payroll payment processing in line with legislation and Company policy and support the payroll team by participating in the processing of the monthly payrolls. Train, coach and develop the payroll team to consistently deliver a high quality professional service ensuring confidentiality of data at all times. Build and foster strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding their service requirements and ensuring any issues are dealt with in a prompt and professional manner. Provide advice and guidance on payroll best practice, policy, process and operating procedures. Identify opportunities for improvement, make suggestions and implement appropriate changes. Ensure the payroll schedule is adhered to and any changes to the schedules are communicated to stakeholders at the earliest opportunity. Plan and organise time and tasks effectively ensuring that agreed payroll service levels are achieved. Ensure the payroll team work with the HR Advisors and HR Business Partners to resolve any pay change queries prior to running payroll. Manage payments to third parties, including HMRC and Pension providers. Administer year end payroll processing (e.g. P11d) and reporting in line with legislation. Provide monthly MI reports on payroll-related KPIs. Ensure regular record and data audits are conducted and appropriate follow up is completed. Respond to and action queries and investigate service issues, communicating results to the Compensation and Benefits Managers and key customer contacts as required. Be fully conversant with the systems required to operate as part of the role and to use systems in line with policies and procedures. Provide expert advice and interpretation of Payroll legislation to support managers when making pay-related decisions. Undertake any other duties as required. Skills & Experience to Be Considered: Previous knowledge and experience of Payroll management in a multi-site complex organisation Previous knowledge and experience of payroll systems Demonstrable experience of managing and motivating a Payroll team Customer focused approach, responding to the needs of the business In-depth and current knowledge of payroll legislation Ability to manage work requests to tight timescales whilst maintaining quality Proven ability to deliver a Payroll service in line with the agreed service levels Ability to build strong working relationships with a demanding and varied client group Excellent written and verbal communication skills Process oriented and driven to achieve continuous improvement Strong Excel skills, Vlookups and pivot tables essential Ability to manipulate and develop HR and Payroll reports Strong attention to detail Credible and professional Resilient Dalton Recruitment Ltd is acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role.
