CITI Managing Director / EMEA Region Head for Wholesale Credit Review Competitive Salary Offered Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Boards, the Committees, the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, the Citigroup Chief Credit Officer, senior management and regulators over the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and independent Risk Management to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging risks. As a key regional leader within GRR, the Wholesale Credit Review Region Head for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) serves as the regional executive responsible for overseeing the execution of Business Monitoring and Credit Reviews of all Institutional Client Group (particularly within Banking & Capital Markets), Citi Commercial Bank, and Citi Private Bank businesses in the region. The Region Head provides direction, leadership, and guidance to the regional Wholesale credit review teams that: Monitor and evaluate Wholesale portfolios, strategies, and credit risksAssess the effectiveness of credit risk controls of assigned businessesPropose pragmatic solutions to risk and control issuesMaintain ongoing contact with an entity through Business Monitoring and corrective action follow-upDevelop and maintain the Fundamental Credit Review Plan document, Sample Rationale Document, etc. Key

responsibilities:
Represent Wholesale Credit Review in the region with Business and Risk Seniors including participation in key Regional Risk Committees and by being Wholesale Credit Review's representative on any regional high-level projectsResponsible for managing the regional Wholesale Credit Review program that consists of global, regional, or single-country credit reviewsManage and lead the regional Wholesale Credit Review teams across the region including in London, Dublin, Warsaw, Prauge, and BucharestCoordinate with the Global Head of Wholesale Credit Review and GRR Management as appropriate to address and escalate emerging risk trendsEnsure that assessments of portfolios, credit risk processes, risk ratings and classifications, staffing models and others as related to Business Monitoring and Reviews are consistent and properly reported to senior management, Citi's Boards of Directors, and regulatorsEnsure that Corrective Action Plans across the regional credit review program are appropriate, monitored, and duly validatedEnsure that Credit Assessment Documents and Review Reports meet quality and consistency standardsAssist in recruitment, talent development, and building an effective review teamAssist the Global Head of Wholesale Credit Review in developing and executing the review plan for the regionSupport Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives for GRRRegularly interface with regional senior business and risk managersTravel required (25%) Knowledge/Experience: Demonstrable financial services experience including 12 years of credit experience in wholesale banking or credit risk managementFully conversant in credit policy mattersAbility to work at senior levels and build constructive and effective relationships with peersAbility to recognize emerging risksExpert in risk analysis and risk management processes for one or more products and lending areasRegulatory experience or relevant experience in a similar role at another institution is desirable Skills/Competencies: Strategic orientation so as to ensure the function continues to be positioned as a thoughtful and proactive partner to Senior Management on credit risk management matters and on driving best practices to support safety and soundness in the regionStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence with and without direct authorityDemonstrated success as a manager including a track record of building high performing teams and developing emerging VP/SVP level talentAdvanced analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issuesProven project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage large review teams in different regionsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniorityProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Qualifications: BA/BSc or higher degree in Business (MBA), Finance or any other related subjectSenior Credit Officer designation is required, Level 2 initial or higher is preferred.
