BAM Nuttall are a leading civil engineering business operating throughout the UK and abroad. The company forms part of Royal BAM Group with over 20,000 people employed globally. In this role you will manage and develop every aspect of the finance function, and develop relationships across the business to ensure that all Company, statutory and legislative requirements are met efficiently and effectively. Your key activities will include: Responsible for consolidated management and statutory accounts for the group and statutory accounts for subsidiary companies. Responsible of all tax (Corporation, PAYE, and VAT) returns for the group. Full responsibility of balance sheet. Coordinate the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Liaise with external financial advisors. Liaise with area management teams and parent Company finance personnel. Treasury management and cash flow forecasting Responsible for ensuring all accounting standards and the Company BAM Accounting Guidelines are fully adhered to. Challenge the business where necessary with regard to revenue recognition IFRS 15, IFRS 9 etc. Develop, implement and maintain financial management systems and procedures. Integrate financial acquisitions and standardise accounting procedures. Recruit, develop and train finance staff. Undertake development skills as required by the Company. Perform any other duties as required by the Finance Director and Company Secretary. Requirements The following are mandatory requirements: Be a qualified accountant and member of an accountancy body (ACMA,ACCA,ACA). Knowledge of civil engineering, construction and/or general contracting. Established track record as a Head of Reporting with personal attributes to deal with external advisors. Experience of basic Microsoft packages. The following are desirable requirements: Be able to formulate good working relationships within and beyond the finance team. Demonstrate commercial awareness and ability to understand, interrogate and challenge the operational side of the business and the impact this will have on the business. Have strong technical analysis skills including advanced Excel and ability to report analysis professionally, incisively and succinctly. Have excellent organisational skills and desire to take on responsibility and high degree of personal motivation. Experienced in the development and management of a finance team. Experience of implementing system changes. Knowledge of SAP desirable, but not essential.
