This is an exciting role working in a successful, well known retail brand in Leicestershire that continually delivers year after year sales growth. This is an important role that will lead and manage the Financial Accounting function providing solid financial controls that minimise risk and delivers assurance that my clients accounts comply with financial regulations and accounting policies. This is a high profile role that reports directly to the Finance Director but also has regular interaction with the CFO and Audit Committee and is the key contact for the company's external audit team. responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the leadership, coaching and development of a team across various departments including financial accounts, tax and treasury and accounts payable. This will include the review of team deliverables, performance reviews, objective setting, talent development and succession planning. This role will lead and organise the entire year end process including the completion of external audit deliverables, production of financial statements, documentation to the audit committee and the creation of the annual report. On a monthly basis this role will run the balance sheet reconciliation review process, bringing fresh ideas to improve the current controls whilst ensuring compliance is delivered throughout the finance team through high quality reconciliations. You must be able to identify risks and opportunities clearly, articulating any consequences and impacts across the business. You will also be responsible for cash flow and balance sheet forecasting. This includes reporting that will identify key operational drivers, improve the process to make it robust, efficient and joined up and to drive a culture change in how they report and forecast cashflows. This person must have the ability to provide technical advice across multiple stakeholders with varying degrees of seniority and financial acumen. What will you need to have for this role: 5 years plus PQE (ACA/ACCA) Either Big 4 trained or having worked in a listed business in a reporting role An excellent communicator, with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels across the business Experience of PLC reporting and governance requirements of a listed business Ability to challenge and offer solutions on technical accounting matters Strong IFRS technical knowledge Cash flow and balance sheet forecasting Strong leadership skills with history of developing and motivating teams
