We are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance, on a permanent basis to be based at our Head Office in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire. HUC is offering this opportunity for someone to hold an all-encompassing Head of Finance position and the salary for this role is between £55,000 to £70,000 per annum depending on experience. Reporting to the CFO the Head of Finance leads a team of c.10 finance professionals across payroll, accounts payable & receivable, statutory reporting and business partnering. The post holder will lead the production and development of management/financial accounting and reporting, including the preparation of statutory accounts for audit and will provide guidance and advice on all operational finance matters to colleagues across the organisation. During a time of significant growth and change a strong focus on ensuring finance processes are efficient, robust and scalable to support the company's growth plans is key. The role is part of the senior leadership team of the business and as such plays a key role in delivering both the finance and business strategy. Who are we? Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Drive the financial planning and reporting of the company by analysing its performance and risks, highlighting these to senior leadership Ensure company financial systems and processes are robust, compliant and support both current activities and future growth plans Deliver a Business Partnering service to the business to review revenue, costs and opportunities to deliver enhanced surplus for re-investment Lead statutory accounts submission, manage audit relationship. Ensure financial accounting robustness and that regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met, including VAT, Corporation tax, FCA submissions. Ownership of budget, forecasting and long-term plans. End to end cash management responsibility including AP, AR, payroll and 3rd party payments Lead and develop the finance team Deputise for CFO as required Person profile: Qualified Accountant with solid post qualified experience Experience with companies focussed on service provision in a complicated rota / payroll environment and IR35 knowledge is advantageous but not essential Strong, effective communicator, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment Good level of Excel (pivot tables, v-looks up) skills, knowledge of Sage 200 advantageous. Strong eye for detail.
