Oliver William Recruitment are in search for a Financial Controller to join a rapidly growing construction and investment business based in Birmingham. The organisation is looking for a detail orientated qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) to take charge of the management and statutory reporting, and put robust controls in place to allow them to achieve their ambitions. The key responsibilities are as follows:
• Oversee all company accounts and investments
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
• Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
• Manage cash flow by tracking transactions, regularly reviewing internal reports, and forecasting
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
• Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants
• Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
• Manage relationships with auditors and external accounting resources to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
• Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information, including summarised data and narrative where required
• Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members. Additional accountability's:
• Maintain and develop financial reporting systems to comply with internal requirements, government regulations and legislation
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
• Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations The business is looking to pay between £40,000 - £45,000, and offering the opportunity to work within a fast paced progressive environment with no boundaries for career development.
