The Role Due to an internal move we are looking for an experienced Credit Risk Manager to join our team based in Reading. As part of Credit Risk, the role is primarily tasked with leading analysts in the production, maintenance and enhancement to bank wide credit risk reporting and analysis. This will encompass development of management information and portfolio insight for credit management purposes. The scope also incorporates recommendations for further analysis, recommendations in changes to policy and to identify opportunities and mitigate risk/loss in order to enhance the overall profitability of the business. Analysis created will cover the whole of the bank's lending portfolio with regular outputs to Committees, Board and other key stakeholders Key Accountabilities include
• Lead a team of analysts to ensure credit risk analytics provides insight for the Bank
• Production of robust insightful analysis and regular reports to support credit risk oversight ensuring Aldermore remains within its stated risk appetite.
• Makes recommendations on risk appetite changes
• Develops and deploys forecasting techniques to provide input into budget and strategy
• Preparation of bank wide credit risk reporting across all lending portfolios
• Production and maintenance of documentation related to regular reporting ensuring it remains up to date and controlled
• Provide insight into trends and recommend changes to reports / analysis as appropriate
• Automation of the production process ensuring solution remains flexible and controlled
• Produce analysis enabling the monitoring of credit risk management
• Plan, priorities and effectively manage workload to meet objectives and stakeholder expectations
• Investigate and recommend new data sources to enhance credit risk analytics across the bank Share knowledge and experience and collaborate with other business areas and actively assist manager and colleagues to transfer knowledge between teams and departments. Keep abreast of strategic changes within the business to ensure models remain valid and accurate. Use knowledge of the business and experience to make recommendations on assumptions and inputs used within the models Work with Motonovo colleagues to develop reporting inline with FirstRand's frameworks Provide support and guidance to the Credit Risk Analysts Experience required Extensive analytical experience, with an aptitude for data mining and problem solving Experience of developing, documenting and producing regular reports Extensive experience in the use of statistical packages SAS (essential) and SQL to produce analysis Proven experience in credit risk analytics in financial services Working knowledge of SQL databases and large data sets Produced and presented papers to management committees Involvement in capital adequacy assessments and accounting for credit risk Demonstrate a rational, pragmatic, disciplined and methodical approach to delivery Engagement with external counterparts such as credit reference agencies The Rewards As you would expect, this opportunity offers a competitive basic salary and reward package, and you'll also benefit from our commitment to investing in your professional development.
