Reed Finance are currently working exclusively with a market leading organisation based just outside of Glasgow City Centre to recruit for a newly created Financial Controller position. The company has recently been acquired by a national organisation and has more than doubled in size over the last few years. Having recently moved into a modern office development, the company are now eager to develop their finance function and would be eager to hear from experienced candidates who'd welcome the challenge of building up the finance team from scratch. Key duties for the role will include: Preparing monthly P&L, cashflow, balance sheet and KPI reports and forecasts Presenting financial information at board level and to non-finance personnel Managing all day to day aspects of running the finance department including authorising payments, dealing with debtors, and handling any issues which may arise Preparing annual budget in conjunction with budget holders and aligned with business strategy Liaising with and being the point of contact for auditors Overseeing tax compliance including VAT and Corporation Tax returns with External accountants where necessary Accessing financial systems requirements and implementing a suitable system Advising on potential financial outcomes of certain business decisions Proactively controlling the credit control cycle including aged debtor reporting Fully responsible for all aspects of purchase & sales ledgers Liaising with external accountancy practice and gradually bringing the management accounts functions in-house Essential Requirements To be considered for the role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
• A formal accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS etc.)
• Experience of leading a finance function within a growing business
• A grounding in the requirements of working in the residential care sector gained from direct experience or through working in a similar industry
• A strong character with a willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of the business
• Experience of reporting at board level and delivering financial reports against strict deadlines
