We're looking for a Financial Accountant who will support the Finance Team in the production of statutory accounts, reconciling variations in local and international accounting standards and the management and accounting for insurance related transactions (including claims and sales of insurance products). Key responsibilities include:
• Ensuring all variations between local and group accounting standards are accurately recorded in a timely manner
• Review of trial balances before submission to auditors and adjusting for any local accounting differences as required
• Production of statutory accounts as required by business needs for submission to relevant authorities
• Liaising with relevant team members across finance function to ensure all areas of statutory accounting completed on time and to high standard
• Supporting management accounts team with the interpretation and application of any journals identified as required as part of audit reviews
• Management of insurance claims including liaising with specialists in other business areas to ensure required information is collected in time with claim deadlines
• Management of relationship with provider(s) for insurance products available for resale in stores
• Reconciliation and review of accounting entries relating to insurance claims made by the business and insurance sales made by stores, particularly in relation to deferred revenue recognition

• To be a qualified accountant (ICAEW/ACCA preferred)
• Substantial experience within a retail head office accounting, statutory accounting or financial audit role
• Proven track record in production of statutory accounts and implantation of accounting standard changes is essential
• SAP (or similar ERP) knowledge
• P.C literacy to include MS Office
• (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Decision making / Self-prioritisation
• Reporting and analysis
