This Legal 500 firm is seeking a tax and accounts paralegal to join their trusts & Court of Protection administration team at its Sheffield office. You will be responsible for maintaining excellent up to date records consisting of trust papers and transactions, organising schedules and supporting information to assist with tax return preparation. Additionally; you will be carrying out tax compliance reviews, completing tax returns, repayment claims, preparing tax calculations and reclaiming overpaid tax. You will achieve your financial targets as allocated by the Legal Director with support from the Line Manager. The successful applicant will hold an accounting qualification or be studying towards one. Ideally, you will have some experience of relative trust and tax work, good knowledge of income tax plus capital gains and inheritance tax. Knowledge and experience of computer software packages for tax return preparation would be advantageous, as would trust accounts experience.
