My client, a well-known energy company based in Nottingham, is currently seeking a Management Accountant to join their busy finance team on a 6-month interim contract. Important Requirements - please read before applying You should ideally immediately available or on a maximum of 2 week's notice and be able to work via your own limited company or an umbrella company. You must have the right to work in the UK currently and for the duration of the contract. Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check upon acceptance of any offer, which must be fully completed and returned with the 'all clear' ahead of starting the role. You must be based relatively locally for this role - we will sadly not be able to consider candidates who wish to relocate or commute for longer than 45 minutes. Due to travel between various local sites, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. Role Responsibilities Delivery of accurate and timely month-end accounting and reporting, providing clarity and insight on business performance. Supporting delivery of high-quality performance reports, insightful plans and forecast updates Ensuring all key stakeholders are provided with comprehensive financial support covering their actual and forecasted spend & performance Support the Operations Finance team with any analysis/insight required to help shape operational strategies. Supporting financial modelling and analytics to help define business cases for investment proposals and other change initiatives. Provide additional ad-hoc support financial and commercial analysis as required. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, controls and ownership in line with relevant Finance Business Partner Highlighting areas of weakness in existing processes and making recommendations for change and implementing where appropriate Key Candidate Requirements ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant, would consider strong 'part-qualified' or 'qualified by experience' candidates with relevant experience Prior experience with month end accounting Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present it in a clear and logical format Ability to plan, determine priorities and work to meet tight deadlines Good interpersonal and influencing skills to challenge the business in its cost management performance Good levels of financial and commercial acumen Strong Excel skills Good working knowledge of SAP or equivalent large finance system Some local travel required with role, so a full UK driving licence holder with own vehicle is required
