My client is an established service provider based in Park Royal. Established for over 30 years and recognised as industry leaders in there field. Main duties:
• Overseeing accounts payable, petty cash, credit card expenditure and fleet management activities.
• Undertaking nominal ledger analysis for improved cost management.
• Responding to monthly, quarterly and annual statistical surveys/returns legislated by the Office of National Statistics.
• Ensuring monthly accounting-close activities are robust and the requisite level of internal controls exist as per best practice.
• Preparing statistical information for submission to our Health & Safety Department on carbon footprint.
• Preparing VAT Returns, Intercompany account reconciliations, prepayments and accruals.
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audit preparation for all companies in the Group.
• Undertaking staff appraisals for direct reports and driving a performance improvement focus across the team.
• Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure Departmental regulatory reporting and business objectives are achieved.
• Providing support across the Finance Department during periods of staff absenteeism to ensure business continuity is achieved.
• Maintaining compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and principles of information confidentiality in a commercial environment.
• Contributing to the Identification and/or implementation of various business improvement initiatives (digital and non-digital solutions) for improved financial planning, management, reporting and governance. Skills & Qualifications
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Excel skills (Vlookup & Pivot Tables)
• Excellent organisational skills, verbal & written communication, verbal reasoning and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
• High degree of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
• Proactive.
• Ability to work without supervision and to use own initiative.
• Professional and discreet.
• Conscientious, diligent and hardworking.
• Working towards a recognised accounting qualification is desirable.
• 2 years' management experience.
