Assistant Accountant
Location:
Motherwell, ML1 1RU Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 Are you dedicated to delivering great service and want to join a growing company that looks after its people? In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial models and analysing information for reporting purposes. The individual in this role will be a commercially minded, pragmatic finance professional who is committed to contributing to the functionality of the finance division. This role will include variety of tasks including:
• To assist in producing monthly management accounts.
• To reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis, and associated reporting.
• To assist in daily payments and cash collection postings.
• To provide information in a timely and accurate manner for Cash, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow review.
• To assist in creating month end journals and adjustments, including intercompany journals and recharges.
• To participate and deliver ad hoc projects, when necessary.
• To measure and analyse potential opportunities versus risks both internally and externally.
• To develop close working relationships with internal customers to fully understand the business as well as establish a credible & effective network of contacts Our Ideal candidate will need to have:
• Diploma(HNC/ HND) or Degree in Business or Accountancy or relevant work experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications, with good excel skills
• Ability to be part of a team, while showing an aptitude to work with limited supervision
• Proactive with ability to use initiative with a desire to make positive change
• Ability to plan, prioritise and work to strict deadlines
• Responsible, conscientious and flexible in a working environment
• Excellent organisational skills
• Methodical with an eye for detail
• Good communication skills, both written and oral, with good interpersonal skills
• Experience in Finance systems We'll make sure that you have everything you need to do a great job. You will already have at least 1 or 2 years' experience gained in a similar role. You will work 37.5 hours per week but will need to be flexible to ensure service delivery at the highest level. The salary for the role will be from £19,000 - £22,000 and you will have access to Apleona employee benefits that will be available to you as soon as you start.
