A leading organisation in the Lake District are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager

Your new company is a leading employer in the Lake District who are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager to join their thriving organisation in a period of transformation. This role would suit a local Payroll Manager / Supervisor seeking a new challenge or perhaps a Payroll professional who has always wanted to live in the Lakes and would consider relocating!

Your new role

Your new role is a truly fantastic opportunity that involves full ownership of the Payroll function, and also involves leadership of the team, putting processes in place, and ensuring the function are up to date with all policies and legislation as required. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a passionate Payroll professional to take the next step in their payroll career at one of the areas most reputable employers.

The business runs on weekly and monthly payrolls and so experience of running both is key. Compliance and being up to date on tax regulation are a large part of the role. My client would also expect the right candidate to have excellent systems knowledge and push for consistent improvement. The ideal candidate would have experience of reporting and be used to working with senior managers to support with all queries. The role involves excellent stakeholder management as you will be working very closely with other departments, and so you must be seen as approachable and helpful with a problem solving mindset.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have a solid proven track record in a Payroll position and ideally be working at Manager or Supervisor level. Leadership capabilities are absolutely key as are exceptional interpersonal skills. Payroll Qualifications are desired, although QBE is also highly considered. The role requires a self starter and so you must be confident, self motivated, hard working and have the ability to manager your time effectively to ensure all aspects of the role are covered.
