What are the ongoing responsibilities of Performance and Risk Analysis? The primary function of this position is to calculate, analyze and report portfolio performance, characteristics, weights, attribution and risk statistics. This position will provide support in liaising with other Risk teams as well as with key internal clients including Global Advisory Services, Risk Managers/Consultants, Investment Analysts/Managers as well as various compliance and legal teams. This position covers one or more equity/balanced investment teams and the strategies within assigned teams, and the analyst will collaborate frequently with Risk colleagues globally. Performance and Risk Analysis Review portfolio performance, attribution and risk statistics by analyzing the accuracy and quality of the underlying data. Identify and resolve data issues of low to moderate complexity impacting performance, characteristics, attribution and risk reporting. Provide commentary/explanations upon request for portfolio performance and attribution. Ensure reports are delivered to the appropriate client(s) and/or provided via automated processes to downstream systems by the agreed upon date. Create and run standard reports and queries. Maintain performance, composite and/or benchmark information. Review accounts to ensure inclusion in the proper composite per GIPS and FT policies. Review automated validation controls and complete issue resolution process. Collaborate with colleagues globally to leverage best practices and obtain support/advice. Client Support Respond to ad-hoc requests for performance, characteristic and risk statistic information. Ensure client requirements understood during product launch and account on-boarding and internal systems/processes are updated support requirements approved by Risk management. Project and Collaborative Support Remain current on performance and risk related trends, topics, issues, systems and analytical techniques. What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful? Education and Experience Bachelor's degree 2 - 4 years relevant work experience in the Mutual Fund/Financial Services Industry Experience using financial/risk application/software Licenses and Certifications Progress toward, or interest in pursuing, CFA, FRM, or similar qualifications is desirable. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of statistical calculations Knowledge of financial instruments and markets Knowledge of GIPS Performance Presentation Standards Knowledge of source systems for data and ability to verify for accuracy Knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling and vocabulary Strong attention to details Excellent analytical skills Microsoft Office Access and Excel Advanced Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to coordinate the work of others Ability to maintain updated knowledge of procedures, products and activities of assigned area Ability to accurately proofread documents What makes Franklin Templeton Investments unique?
