About the role As the Junior Accountant iptiQ EMEA P&C in Bratislava, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space. General Accountability The iptiQ EMEA P&C Carrier Financial Operations team is responsible for supporting the Luxembourg insurance company and the European branches with accounting, controlling, financial analysis and reporting according to internal guidelines, Luxembourg and US GAAP accounting policies as well as local tax requirements. As member of the team you support in a first instance the build-up phase through the implementation of Finance systems, processes and controls. Afterwards you will support the senior accountant and the team leader on complex accounting and reporting activities for the legal entity and branches. You seek possibilities to develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes. Further, you will help with compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements. Responsibilities Support the build-up phase of the Finance systems and processes for the legal entity and branches Help with timely and accurate legal entity and branch financial accounting, controlling and reporting tasks according to internal guidelines, regulatory and Group requirements, including closing and reporting of defined entities Support the Senior Accountant with timely bookings of accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, tax bookings, intercompany recharges, and other non-technical accounting activities Process supplier invoices and allocate them to the appropriate expense account independently and in a timely manner Ensure proper authorisations and verify correctness of invoices Process incoming and outgoing payments in a timely manner Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for bank account movements Reconcile assigned balance sheet and control accounts in timely manner Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements Support the Senior Accountant with audit activities and prepare requested information Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities Any other ad hoc tasks as required About you University degree in the area of finance, banking, accounting, economics (any relevant working experience is advantage) or Secondary Economic School or Secondary Grammar school with at least 1 -2 years of working experience in the area of finance, accounting, administration Basic accounting knowledge (Understanding of balance sheet accounts, P&L accounts, control accounts and the link between these accounts) Advanced user knowledge of MS Office tools Good verbal and written business communication skills Proactive attitude, self-motivated, team player, willing to learn Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting is an advantage Fluent English written and spoken Knowledge of French and / or German is an advantage We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
