Talentedge have recently been engaged in sourcing for a dynamic Systems Accountant for a leading ecommerce travel business. You will ideally have experience working within the travel industry having been exposed to CAA/ATOL and have in depth experience using SUN Systems. Key duties
• Manage the migration project of the bespoke reconciliation platform to an in house solution
• Continuous maintenance and evolution of reconciliation platform once migration project completed
• Ownership of the entire reconciliation system, including working with our technology partners to drive system improvements around efficiency, control and reporting
• Process design / improvement
• Maintain strong financial control environment
• Ensure best practice and continuous improvement of controls, policies and procedures within the finance function
• Work with the accounts team to confirm posting from the reconciliation system into the accounting system
• Liaising with Operations to understand new work flows and how that interacts with the reconciliation platform
• Ad-hoc project work as required Qualifications and experience
• Experience in complex process mapping and migration projects
• Strong process improvement experience
• Analytical mind-set being able to review large amounts of data, identify key trends and summarise accordingly
• Methodical individual with a good attention to detail
• Ability to manage priorities effectively with commercial acumen
• Excellent communication skills
• Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA)
• Self-starter, who is willing and able to take initiative
• Team player
• Organised and task focused in order to meet deadlines The following are not required by would be advantageous:
• Knowledge of SUN accounting system;
• Experience in the leisure industry
