Overview Our Financial Services business is growing rapidly as we respond to our clients' needs and to the challenges of a changing market. With around 350 people based in London, we work across the full spectrum of financial services and offer our people a fantastic opportunity to develop their career. Our audit team in London focuses on the asset management and capital markets, banking and alternative finance and insurance sectors. We work with start-ups through to FTSE 250 listed businesses.As an Audit Semi-Senior you will form part of the Audit team both on-site at clients, and in the office, ensuring that all aspects of the audit are completed on time and within budget. You will be expected to study for and complete the remaining exams for your accounting qualification over the remaining period of the training contract required, and will be supported, developed and supervised by senior members of the audit group to enable you to complete your professional studies as well as learning new skills through practical application of the concepts which you study. Responsibilities
• Assists in the planning, execution and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignment, including statutory and CASS audits, for senior or manager review, seeking input for areas of concern and judgement
• Significant amount of time will be spent off-site at clients' premises
• Produce work for the Senior and/or Manager review clearly highlighting issues and providing potential solutions to issues identified
• Identify and understand client needs, suggest potential solutions on technical matters and communicate and agree client needs and potential solutions with managers
• Active engagement with client staff in order to gain a good understanding of their business and ensure the efficient execution of the audit
• Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams, on client premises and in the office
• Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
• Participate in group, sector and firm wide activities Requirements
• Studying towards a professional qualification ACA/ICAS or equivalent
• Working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements
