Our commercial teams help ensure that the business takes sound decisions through robust planning, careful pricing, sound contracts, skilled procurement and rigorous evaluation of every major business decision.Job DescriptionPrimary role purpose:We are currently presenting an exciting opportunity for an International Tax Manager to join our Tax team which is within the Finance Division of Inmarsat's business. The Tax function is outward facing and proactive in its management of Inmarsat's tax affairs.The role will report into the Group Tax Manager and will assist in the management of the Group's tax affairs in particular as it relates to international operations. The role will be responsible for managing all the tax affairs in the relevant jurisdictions (currently North and South America, Middle-East and Asia Pacific), including planning together with compliance and reporting oversight as well as developing strong partnerships with the Business Units and other functions. In addition to strong tax technical capabilities (ideally with some US experience), the candidate must demonstrate proven project management skills across multi-functional teams.Key

Responsibilities:
Business Unit partnering and agility to respond to a breadth of queriesAssist in establishing operations in new geographies or restructurings as requiredProvide UK-outbound tax planning support for international operations of the UK-headquartered company, including repatriation strategies and local country tax planning opportunitiesReview and negotiation of tax clauses in customer and vendor contractsLead restructuring and other planning initiatives including coordination of the internal and external teamsAdvising, with input from advisors as relevant, on all aspects of tax in relation to the relevant jurisdictions, including indirect, direct and employment taxesCompliance and reporting oversight to the extent that it relates to the relevant jurisdictions, in particular the US and IndiaAssist with year-end statutory accounts preparation and audit defenceSupport the preparation of the annual transfer pricing documentation, as requiredProvide support to the Tax Group outside of immediate responsibilities, as requiredQualificationsEssential Knowledge and Skills:Relevant degree, or equivalent, and strong academic recordProfessional certification (ideally CTA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)Consummate commercial experience gained in Big 4/Tier A accountancy firm or Blue Chip in-house tax departmentStrong tax technical and tax accounting skills across all areas of corporation tax, in particular the USExperience of international tax and transfer pricingGood computer skills including ExcelAbility to create positive relationships across multiple jurisdictions and culturesA great team player and a desire to build a culture of performance excellenceDesirable Knowledge and Skills:SAPAdditional InformationYou must be eligible to work in this location advertised.Inmarsat Values: Our values define Inmarsat's culture and represent what we believe in.
