Our client, an innovative technology business based in Wokingham, are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance team and take ownership for financial control and management reporting across the UK, Asia and America. If you are a qualified Finance Manager/Financial Controller who aspires to grow into an SME FD/CFO role in the next 35 years, then this could be the perfect role for you. The Role Reporting to the COO and CFO, the Financial Controller will play a critical role to ensure the integrity of controls and reporting for the group while also ensuring systems and processes remain robust. Key duties will cover: - Work closely with the COO and CFO to prepare business plans providing proactive, strategic financial advice to improve our profitability, future growth. - Oversight responsibility for Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cashbook and Control functions - Responsible for reporting on the overall profitability of the business, ensuring that this correctly reported by regions - Oversee a budgetary control system and monitor actual data against approved budgets, plus analyse any variances. - Work with the Client Services team on revenue forecasting and targets, guiding on project profitability, KPI measures & Rate cards - Act as a senior management advisor on commercial issues including agency, client, supplier and personnel contracts - Manage and monitor balance of accrued and deferred revenue and work in progress. Proactively reduce these balances and escalate issues - Prepare monthend reconciliations of balance sheet accounts such as accrued revenue, deferred revenue and client billing - Analyse and review Profit & Loss account and balance sheet making sure you understand all balances and act on any anomalies - Design and provision of high quality and timely financial management information and KPIs to monitor performance and progress against agreed plans - Regular management accounting duties, including the production of monthly management accounts; budgeting; financial forecasting - Tax compliance (VAT/GST, Corporation and Payroll taxes) - Compile Annual Statutory Reporting - Management of cashflow - Monitor and improve the internal control environment, ensuring that all transactions are properly authorised and controlled - Develop and improve financial systems and processes that better serve the wider business - Use financial analysis and information to proactively solve problems, make recommendations and provide solutions - Effective management and motivation of the Finance team within the UK and Asia Your Profile The successful Financial Controller will be a qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) accountant and have post qualification experience alongside experience working within a handson SME environment. Ideally the Financial Controller will have a background in businesses subject to complex revenue recognition and will also have had exposure to Group environments with international entities subject to differing tax and reporting regulations. This position requires extensive team management and strong communication capabilities to educate finance and nonfinance personnel. You must be a relationshipdriven leader who will be expected to help strengthen the relationship between finance and the business. The position requires an individual who can support change and drive process improvement while also being flexible and adaptable in an evolving, fast paced work environment. Parking is available on site and there is also a bus link which runs close to the office. The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.
