The Finance Department at Cranfield University is looking for a talented professional person to lead the Research and Accounts Monitoring team.  You will be a CCAB qualified accountant with significant experience of working in a large complex organisation or a Higher Education Institution.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing post award research, consultancy and large project accounting for the University and some of its subsidiary companies.  This will include the production of all invoices and claims, preparing for and dealing with contract audits, reviewing contract progress and highlighting variances and issues.  The post holder will also oversee the financial budgeting and forecasting of research, consultancy and large project income and expenditure.

The position would suit a hard-working, self-motivated and reliable person able to work to strict deadlines and take responsibility for their own workload.  Good interpersonal skills and a “can do” attitude are essential as there will be frequent contact with customers, sponsors and University staff.

Experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word is essential as the work is mainly computer based.  Previous experience of computerised accounts systems is essential, significant experience of the UNIT4 Business World (Agresso) system would be desirable.
