Group VAT Assistant Our Group Finance team support a variety of UK and European entities within the Westcoast Group with a range of financial activities. They are an easy-going, friendly team with a great sense of humour and a large supply of sugary treats. What is the role? Working as part of the VAT function within our Group Finance team you will support our Group VAT Compliance Officer to ensure that all VAT activities are completed accurately and within set deadlines. How will you do this? You will undertake a variety of tasks to prepare data to a high standard, ready for VAT filings. Working to deadlines, you will be able to maintain a high level of accuracy whilst under pressure. You will also complete reconciliations across a variety of internal systems. As part of this small team, you will proactively look at ways to work more efficiently as a function as well as keeping an awareness of external factors that could impact processes and ways of working in the future. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate, or someone with a Finance Administration experience looking for an opportunity to take on a more challenging role. Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of UK VAT but if not, a desire to work with VAT and develop into a VAT specialist is essential. Is this the role for you? To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas: Experience within a Finance Administration position or similar, or a recent graduate (finance or accountancy). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including V-Look Ups and Pivot Tables. Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels across the business. Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, be able to spot mistakes and anomalies in data. Excellent time management and ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks. Good interpersonal skills, able to build relationships internally and externally. What will we do for you?
