The Role The role of Financial Manager will be to oversee and develop Workstream's accounts department, covering payroll, credit control, accounts payable and all financial reporting. The role would be ideally suited to an individual looking to take the next step up in their career to the level of financial controller. While the current highly experienced team will carry out the more day to day administrative tasks, you'll be tasked with the smooth running of the company's financial department and your daily to-do list will feature some or all of the following - reporting to management, producing accounts, monitoring the performance of the department, overseeing all tax and regulatory/compliance issues, contributing to decisions regarding financial strategy. A strong character will also be required as you will be expected to make difficult financial decisions. You'll need to be comfortable balancing hands-on financial management, and acting as the link between the finance department and other Workstream colleagues, so good communication is essential. Lots of energy and motivation, multi-tasking skills, good understanding of business and financial issues and the ability to work to tight deadlines are traits we are looking for. Our preferred candidate would have a degree in a related subject such as maths, economics or business, plus applicants who have completed their accountancy qualifications from one of the following bodies would also be considered: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Working hours are 09:00-17:30, Monday-Friday - plus extra hours when large deadlines are looming. While the role is office based, controllers will spend time in meetings or visiting other departments and clients.
