Heyland recruitment are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a fast growing, market leading manufacturing business based in Deeside, North Wales. Reporting directly to the Finance Director this is an exciting opportunity for an ACA qualified finance professional to become an instrumental part of the leadership team duration an ambitious period of growth and transformation. The successful candidate will manage the Central Finance team of 4 individuals, coordinating the production of the Group monthly management accounts and will take a lead on statutory accounts compliance for the Group; balance sheet control, treasury management, and tax compliance. Job Accountabilities: Monthly duties Oversee the group consolidation, for circa 5 UK (and potential overseas entities in the future) on a monthly basis, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP Prepare the group monthly management accounts, including high level analysis of subsidiary and group performance, financial position, and cashflow. Reconcile group accounts to the business intelligence system Ensure that all intercompany balances reconcile across the group Take responsibility for the balance sheet, ensuring reconciliations are performed on a timely basis and appropriate provisions are made. Treasury Manage the group working capital model to forecast cashflows over 5 years Update the working capital model after each month end and following each forecast or budget Ensure appropriate credit control procedures are followed and debtor days are appropriate to commercial risk. Ensure adequate insurance is in place for debtors Ensure compliance with the Invoice Finance facility Identify foreign exchange exposure and implement cashflow hedging strategy Ensure hedging documentation is compliant with cashflow hedging under UK GAAP. Group compliance Prepare the year end statutory accounts (UK GAAP) for the group and its UK subsidiaries Manage the year end audit process, acting as a key point of contact during the audit Develop Group Accounting Policies and ensuring compliance with accounting standards Assist in developing and implementing a robust financial control framework to facilitate accounting rigour Manage the Group's taxation affairs, including returns and payments relating to Corporation tax, VAT, Intrastat, EC sales lists, PAYE/NI Manage all matters relating to payroll administration with the support of an external payroll bureaux. Assist the Group tax advisors in the completion of corporation taxation returns Other Produce financial data & reports for Directors and other departments on request Support business development activities, including the integration of subsidiary and product acquisitions Ad-hoc commercial and operational analysis Provide information to support the annual insurance review Finance team The central finance team includes 4 individuals; two admin accountants, one qualified finance manager and the qualified financial controller Commercial finance is a separate function currently headed up by a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst who has responsibility for the detailed analysis of performance, budgeting, forecasting business partnering, and decision support. The Financial Controller is required to work collaboratively with the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst. The Finance Controller and the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst report into the Finance Director The successful candidate will be an experienced financial accountant with strong technical skills and be able to demonstrate resilience and flexibility within a growing group environment. Candidate Profile Qualified chartered accountant with detailed understanding of accounting standards and experience preparing financial statements under UK GAAP Have industry experience as a financial accountant Display the ability to develop strong relationships with other stakeholders, be able to demonstrate appreciation of cultural differences when dealing with overseas colleagues and advisors Display the ability to be adaptable and resilient to change in a growing group environment Be self-motivated and able to work as manage a small team, managing multiple tasks Have strong excel skills Be able to understand business processes and assess the financial impact of decisions Have a working knowledge of corporation tax and VAT Experience of an international group environment or a manufacturing environment are desirable
