Job Details

My client are currently recruiting for a property accounts assistant to come into the company following a period of exponential growth. They are looking for another team member preferably with pre-existing accounts experience. The role is based in the service charge accounts department, and you will be tasked with looking after your own personal portfolio of clients through a variety of functions.

My client are an innovative firm of property advisors and development consultants who have become synonymous with urban living in central London. They are currently recruiting for a member of the team to come in and handle a portfolio of clients after a period of rapid expansion for the company, with the ultimate aim of providing study support through the remainder of AAT and ACCA/CIMA to develop the successful candidate to a fully fledged service charge accountant. Property accounts assistant role based in Hertford.

Description

  • Enter budgets, provided by property manager onto QuickBooks.
  • Raise Service Charge & Ground Rent invoices in accordance with the lease.
  • Calculate and invoice utility, insurance and ad-hoc re-charges.
  • Calculate & invoice the end of financial year balancing charge.
  • Calculate & set up Direct Debits for customers.
  • Send invoices and information to customers by post and e-mail.
  • Allocate customer payments and resolve queries.
  • Credit control, chase debts in accordance with the lease.
  • Resolve enquiries received by letter, email & by phone.
  • Manage centralised supplier e-mail inbox.
  • Dealing with building and construction suppliers.
  • Input and pay supplier invoices, reconcile statements.
  • Pay Suppliers in the accounting system and make payments on a regular basis.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash position and take action as required.
  • Investigate discrepancies on control accounts e.g. Recharges
  • Calculate accruals and prepayments and enter journals
  • Prepare Budget v Actual P&L, discuss variances with property manager.
  • Prepare audit packs & assist auditors with queries.
  • Ensure published accounts match the accounting system.
  • Deal with internal and external queries within KPI's
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.

Profile

The Successful candidate will:

  • Be a junior candidate with some level of experience in an accounting role- credit control, accounts assistant or similar.
  • Experience operating on Sage or quickbooks (preferred not essential)
  • basic Microsoft office skills inc Excel.
  • A focused attitude with the ability to focus on and manage your portfolio of clients.
  • AAT studier (preferred)
