Recruit UK are working on an excellent opportunity for a Accounts Manager in Taunton to join a multi award winning firm. This role is crucial to the development of the business and therefore our client is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who really wants to drive the growth of their accountancy division forward. They would need to be very polished, articulate and relish the opportunity to visit and attain new clients in addition to servicing existing clients. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for a varied portfolio of non-audit clients, across a range of industry sectors, including sole-traders, partnerships and limited companies. This position will have you reporting directly to the directors of the accountancy practice and you will have the opportunity to take a lead role in developing this business. Key objectives: Dealing with the completion / reviewing of annual accounts and tax computations, for a varied portfolio of non-audit clients Ensuring that all accounts & tax returns are filed with the relevant authorities on time Ensuring that clients accounting records are maintained accurately throughout the year and be able to provide management figures as required Attending client meetings and create your own relationships Being confident in the use of the latest cloud software & be able to discuss with & recommend to clients Assisting in the completion/review of quarterly VAT returns & filing at HMRC in line with making tax digital Assisting in the review of monthly payrolls & filing at HMRC To proactively deal with client queries Drafting correspondence for clients; liaising with HMRC, by telephone and email Helping to oversee the day-to-day management of a growing department, including assigning work to staff members based on their knowledge and capabilities and helping with the development of junior members of the team Attendance at networking events and identifying opportunities to sell additional services to existing clients & prospective new clients You will need to demonstrate: A high degree of personal motivation, organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload Flexibility and approachability under pressure You must be proactive, tenacious and show initiative always Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy The ability to communicate confidently, clearly and effectively at all levels The ability to work closely with other members of the team and management team A learning mind-set with the ability to receive feedback to implement corrective advice ensuring achievement of key objectives and service delivery to clients A high level of professionalism to deliver client service excellence The ability to build excellent relationships with all colleagues through role model behaviour in line with the Group culture and strategic objectives The ability to multitask and meet deadlines when required What's in it for you: Benefits would be as follows: Salary bracket up to £40K 0 - 6% annual bonus 24 days holiday bank holidays Parking expenses met 4% employee/employer pension contribution ½ day lifestyle time each month (useful for dentist/GP appointments, but also available for anything they enjoy doing each month) Birthday off each year - or equivalent day if it falls on the weekend Qualifications fully subsidised 10hrs study time per month 25 days company sick pay Company gym (Individuals are able to use this when they contribute to the Cooper Associates Foundation through payroll giving each month - contributions can be as little as £1 per month) Fresh fruit delivered to the office each week Skills and experience required: Qualifications ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience, with significant relevant experience in a similar role Three years practice experience Knowledge Familiarity with their IT systems (QuickBooks, Iris, Xero) preferable Familiarity and an understanding of the relevant statutory compliance issues affecting the firm including, GDPR and the Health and Safety at Work Act Professional, personable, presentable and punctual Good technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance Familiarisation with personal and business tax regulations, plus VAT and PAYE Supervisory experience of accounts staff Full, clean driving licence, plus unrestricted access to a car Organised, accurate, and able to plan the use of time efficiently Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with both clients, team members and colleagues Excellent communication skills About Recruit UK: As specialists in financial services recruitment, we bring unique expertise, insight and connections, whether you are looking for a new job or are trying to fill a role.
