The OU is looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Clerk to join them from 1st December 2019 until 21st February 2020, working full time and paying between £11.99ph - £12.35ph. Key Responsibilities; Processing changes to monthly consultancy payroll - such as updating any bank details, pension changes and resolving queries. Processing advances - here you will calculate gross amounts and estimate for advances, complete control documentation, complete pay requisition to effect net payment to the individual, set up payments using banking software, prepare journal if debt outstanding and raise and issue debtors letters as needed. Starters/Leavers - you will process Staff Engagement Forms (or equivalent) to add new starters to the consultancy payroll, input tax, NI and Pension elements, ensure new starter tax codes are input and correct and raise and issue forms such as P45 and other leaver documentation. Statutory and Occupational Payments - with sickness you will resolve all queries related to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), with Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leave you will liaise with units and individuals over all cases and check documentation and process any payments as per processes and guidance. Non-core Payments - you will assist with queries relating to payments and make adjustment to key systems where required and provide a tactful, sensitive and confidential service to members of staff/workers about all things related to their payments. Staff/Worker Queries - you will provide a tactful, sensitive and confidential service to members of staff/workers about all things related to their payments, complete HMRC and DWP enquiry forms, liaise with the HMRC over employee taxation issues and provide taxation advice to employees as appropriate Other finance tasks - such as assisting with monthly checking of input, BACS recalls, filing, archiving, student loans documentation, Assist with small payrolls as required and covering expenses processing in cases of absence. Skills and Experience required: Ideally SAP Payroll experience. Good attention to detail with an aptitude for problem solving with accuracy and timeliness Knowledge and application of IT skills - proficient Excel user, Word, Outlook and the internet. Some experience of working in an environment where confidentiality and security are paramount. It is desirable if you have IPP Study.
