Our client within public sector is looking for a Principal Finance Officer to join their Finance department based in Wandsworth. The role is offered on a 3 months contract basis paying £17.39/hour PAYE, working Mon to Friday 36 hours per week. The Principal Finance Officer manages a small team involved in the collection and recovery of residual debt carried forward from a previous Finance system. The role holder will make sure that all open items have been reviewed and appropriate action taken, including referral to legal. To significantly reduce the level of residual debt. Responsibilities:
Carries out all collection tasks before deciding on recovery action. Completes court documentation and progresses all recovery activities without supervision. Identifies areas to target independently. Proactively targets blocked invoices and addresses master data issues. Liaise closely with service departments, service users, debtors and contractors. Required Experience and Skills: Experience within a busy Finance operations environment involving collections and debt recovery activities. Understanding or experience of dealing with local authority leaseholder and sundry debts Relevant accounting or finance qualifications preferred Experience MS Office skills including Excel Problem solving skills and ability to handle complex issues Line management experience If you have experience in Finance operations and debt recovery , apply now to be considered.
