About the Finance Manager: Reporting to the Managing Director (MD) and member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Finance Manager is responsible for driving the business and financial strategy for the Group, including its three foreign subsidiaries. The role requires a hands-on approach to planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including regulatory and legal compliance, and management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved for both the accounts department and the IT team. The Finance Manager shall take an active role in defining and monitoring a breadth of organisational KPIs to deliver continuous improvement and manage relationships with their subsidiaries, the bank, auditors, HMRC and other external stakeholders. Responsibilities of the Finance Manager: Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved. Reporting and accounting as per Group, Company, subsidiary, regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, annual report and accounts and Employee Benefit Trust. Staff management, motivation, training, recruitment and selection for the Accounts and IT teams. Contributing to strategic and operational planning and development as a member of the SLT and preparing and distributing reports and records to the SLT and board of directors. Day-to-day accounting functions including, but not limited to monthly management accounts preparation, budget and forecasts generation and monitoring, payroll, credit control, bank and cash management, ledger control, audit, HMRC submissions, etc. Maintain Approvals and Authority Levels schedule and ensure compliance. Manage the relationship with the bank, auditors, HMRC and other external stakeholders. Manage Company leases. Audit operational processes to ensure compliance, the correct reporting of data and recommend scope for improvement. Generate and report on company KPIs. Ensure Epicor (ERP System) is fit for purpose and seek ways to improve operational effectiveness. Primary Bank signatory and administrator. Monitoring transactional data within the ERP system created from real time manufacturing processes. Requirements of the Finance Manager: Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Minimum five years' experience as a finance manager or financial controller, within an SME manufacturing organisation Good understanding and experience of manufacturing processes. Minimum five years' experience of managing and motivating an accounts team. Experience working with international organizations, ideally consolidating different currency subsidiaries for management accounting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach to achieving results. Good attention to detail and analytically capable. Expert user of an ERP system (ideally EPICOR) and Microsoft applications. Breath of knowledge of IT would be a strong advantage and previous management of IT functions ideal.
