Accounts Manager - South Cambridge - £30,000-£40,000 per annum We are currently working with a small biotechnology company, based to the South of Cambridge who require a capable and confident Accounts Manager to join them on a permanent basis, looking after the day to day accounting duties for the business. Reporting to the CEO and Consultant Finance Director, this role will include the following: Work with Finance Director to bring the accounting system in house working largely in the areas of purchasing and cash management Purchase Ledger, pay suppliers and resolve associated queries Bank Reconciliations and cash management Manage Payment Run Attend meetings with senior management where necessary Manage the purchase ordering system in conjunction with scientific staff Manage expense reclaims Manage office admin and office facilities including relocation issues Manage HR paperwork and be first point of call on all staff issues Manage pension and staff benefits admin Assist in preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations Collection and analysis of data to identify cost saving areas Implement tight cash flow management and forecasting procedures Implement good financial control practices Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts and all supporting analyses and reconciliations Assist in preparation of financial budgets and forecasting and monitor performance Assist in cost-benefit analyses to support financial decisions Assist in preparation of R&D tax credit claims Assist in production of annual report, including supporting papers for the auditors This successful candidate should have substantial accounting experience and be capable and confident in producing management and year end accounts, any experience in biotech / R&D would be advantageous. Ideally you will be AAT qualified or part/fully ACCA/CIMA qualified. As you will be joining a small office, it is essential that candidates possess a very flexible and willing approach, along with a friendly and helpful manner. This client currently uses Sage and as such, experience using this package would be advantageous.
