Responsibility for all daily commodity risk activities associated with the European business including: quality P&L validation and exposure reporting; new and amended deal checks; DOA and rogue trader risk monitoring; and market curve management. Duties Provide oversight on all month-end activities including; reconciliation of trading P&L to the financial accounts; analysis of all de-marks and fair value accounting adjustments; commentary on all new and aged accruals; review of all primary carbon project exposures and non-standard transactions. Line management responsibilities for a small team of analysts, including ongoing performance management, mid and year-end reviews Establish strong relationships with commercial and various functions across Europe in IST and the Fuel Value Chain (FVC), as well as maintaining global connectivity with all other commodity risk teams Provide insight and analysis of environmental products markets while demonstrating keen awareness of domestic and international commodity markets Lead modernisation, automation, and global process standardisation initiatives Support any reporting requirements, including new activity implementation, regulatory reporting requirements and financial disclosures Liaise with IT to lead and manage projects, including system development and improvement, and new product integration Profile 5 years working within Risk / Product Control or related field (potentially accountancy) Exposure to Commodities needed - either in brokerage house / energy provider / bank Exposure to Environmental certificates OR carbon trading highly advantageous Keen to learn and prosper Bachelors degree in Finance, Accountancy, Science or mathematics(or related field) Willingness to engage with senior internal and external stakeholder The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training .
