Position Description Morgan Stanley has an opening for an Executive Director in the Americas Payments Control Operations Group, based in New York or Baltimore, focused on Payments Operations & Strategic Solutions. Function is responsible for the transformation and execution of Payments functions across the Enterprise, including but not limited to Management of Payments and Receivables Processing of the Firms Large Value Payments (LVPS) Strategic Product Ownership for payments capabilities in partnership with the Business and Technology Intraday Cash Receipts Matching and Reconciliation of Cash Ledgers and Receipts Global OFAC / Sanctions Screening Global Payments Risk Management This role will be responsible for helping manage end-to-end payment capability development processes from concept formation to strategy, and implementation, with specific focus on Large Value Payments Processing and Settlement. The individual will be tasked to work closely with various stakeholders to aid in enhancements to Operations Processes, Platform Design and Renovations, as well as Risk Management & Control. These processing capabilities are the backbone for many high profile initiatives, and this individual will be a key player in the potential execution of a broader transformational strategy around expansion of other payment methods/types. Candidate must be well versed in banking operations processes, correspondent banking, clearing and settlement domestically and international, banking products, new banking initiatives, regulations, real time payments, ACH, Fed/Chips, SWIFT, Insight into industry initiatives across high and low value payment transactions (e. g. RTP, SWIFT, gpi, Same Day ACH). Primary Responsibilities Management of end to end processes that aid in the execution of outgoing and incoming payments, including familiarity with issues related to settlement of Large and Low Value Payments, Accounting, Reconcilement, and Exception Management Partner with relevant payment stakeholders across all Morgan Stanley Lines of Business (Wealth Management, Institutional Securities & Investment Management) on facilitating best-in-class, and controlled payments, focusing on automation and Straight Thru Processing opportunities Develop a deep understanding of our payments processing platform(s), and be on point for resolving in-region region operational matters Provide Product Ownership for Payments Related Technologies helping to enable strategic change alongside Technology Serve as an expert for electronic banking and payment transactions Act as an Escalation point for issues related to Payments and Receivables matters Proactively identifying ways to improve processes, procedures, and enhance controls Simplify, automate and innovate existing payments and receivable processes Translate vision into effective payment strategies with well-developed goals that drive operational excellence and enhance the overall end user experience Ensure technology standards are understood and aligned within integrated payment processes Qualifications Skills required Bachelors degree with a minimum of ten, plus years of experience within the Banking and Payments Services Space Background in Payments, Cash Management, Treasury Functions, Funding and Settlement a plus Understanding of SWIFT messages, and various Global Wholesale Payment Networks (Fedwire, CHIPS, CHAPS, Target2 etc.) Knowledge of Payment Messaging Design (ISO20022 and MT) Prior work related to RTGS/Fedwire, TCH-CHIPS, ACH, Checks, Faster Payments, Real-time Payments, etc. Experience with Payment Services and Cash Management Technologies such as Fedline Advantage and other platforms supporting Wires, ACH, and other Payments Services Operations Familiar with FFIEC and other Payments / Wholesale Payments Related Regulations Strong combination of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Proven coaching / performance management skills, helping to foster a collaborative team environment Strong ability to prioritize; work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment Proactive, self-starter with a motivation to learn quickly Understanding of the concept of Design Sprints and Agile capability development principles. Experience with inflight Processing for Sanctions Screening of Payments Transactions also desirable Series 99 Operations Supervisor Certification
