Reporting to the Senior Tax Director, the Tax Manager will be an integral part of the APAC tax team based in Hong Kong but will also work closely with the Corporate Tax Team in the US. The Tax Manager will be primarily responsible for managing and supporting the income tax provision review and related controls under US GAAP ASC740, local tax compliance including return-to-provision reconciliation and transfer pricing processes/documentation for China. Additionally, the Tax Manager will be involved in implementation of tax planning initiatives for China and will also work closely with the local finance teams and financial shared services team in the China/APAC region. Responsibilities & Qualifications Key Responsibilities Manage and support income tax provision review and related controls under US GAAP ASC740 for the region Work with local finance teams/financial shared services team to ensure all material tax returns and return-to-provision reconciliations (FAS109 studies) are prepared timely and accurately. Review China income tax compliance and assist local finance teams in seeking management approval for the significant tax returns and material corporate income tax payments in the region in accordance with the Companys delegation of authority requirement. Assist in ensuring tax accounting (quarterly and annual) procedures are in compliance with the companys SOX control objectives and company policies. Assist in evaluating and accounting for uncertain tax positions for China in accordance with ASC 740-10, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes Support transfer pricing team on the quarterly transfer pricing adjustment processes including review of the quarterly Source P&Ls and mark-up factors. Monitor and manage transfer pricing reporting and documentation requirements for TE entities in China (including CbC, MF and LF reporting requirements for China). Assist in tax research and provide tax support during implementation and execution of tax planning initiatives. Provide tax support to local finance teams during tax audits or when dealing with enquires from local tax authorities. Support Treasury on intercompany loans and cash deployment strategies including dividend repatriation. Keep abreast of latest tax development and monitor and evaluate impact of local tax law changes in China. Assist in special tax projects where needed. Requirements University degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA qualification or equivalent required. At least 6 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or a multinational company. Good understanding of US tax accounting, transfer pricing, compliance and reporting processes. China tax experience is a must and US/Asia Pacific regional tax experience is a strong plus. Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential.
