Description

The Head of Finance will have operational responsibility for the Finance Department and line management responsibility for the finance team

They will provide the lead in the production and further development of monthly management/financial accounting and reporting and will provide guidance and advice on all operational finance matters to colleagues across the organisation. They will perform a true business partner role enabling managers to understand, run and improve their areas of business

Key Responsibilities:

 Financial/Management Accounting - Prepare the management accounts, with the assistance of the Financial Accountant, and seek to implement a best practice approach for financial accounting controls.

 Processes - Design and implement the necessary controls to protect the organisation's assets and prevent any potential areas of fraud. This work will be determined by any changes required and outlined by the Director of Finance and Resources and/or the Board and should meet the needs of internal audit recommendations.

 Systems - Champion for any new financial systems introduced into the business as well as driving the development of existing ones.

 Team Management/Leadership - Develop and motivate the Finance Team

 Financial Policies & Procedures - Ensure, from the framework outlined by the Director of Finance and Resources that appropriate financial policies are implemented, documented and become part of the core work of the finance department.

Profile

The successful individual will have the following skills and experience -

 SAGE 50,200 or 500 systems administration

 Ideally Charity experience but not essential

 Used to providing accurate and timely information in fast moving environments

 Good Microsoft office skills

 Team leadership experience

 Experience of providing monthly management information to key budget holders

 Experience of presenting to senior leaders

 Experience of finance business partnerships

Knowledge:

 Degree Educated

 Fully ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

Essential Skills:

 Good interpersonal skills

 Confident about working with people across other departments

 A good team worker

 Flexible and adaptable within the team

 Ability to meet deadlines

 Excellent attention to detail
