An excellent opportunity for an ambitious Management Accountant to take the next step in the career within a leading Engineering institution based out of Cambridge. The Management Accountant will have responsibility across the month end duties, with ownership of the management accounts alongside supporting the budget and forecasting processes with the senior finance team.

The role will sit within an experienced finance team who are able to provide a challenging but highly rewarding role.

Description

The Management Accountant will be responsible for:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for the business
• Set-up, prepare and maintain reporting of business performance indicators versus expectations
• Maintain and reconcile Asset Register
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Produce detailed P&L reports and variance analysis
• Play key role in monthly forecasting and annual budget setting
• Review and maintain ledgers and prepare cash and stock reconciliations
• Assist with the continued development and improvement of internal systems and processes

Profile

The successful candidate for the Management Accountant will be:

• Part qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), and actively pursuing
• Strong Excel; V Lookups, Pivot Tables and Sumifs
• Broad systems exposure, confident with implementing system improvements
• Confident in building strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders
• Proven record of producing reliable financial information relied upon by the Head of Finance and wider senior management team.
