My client is a software business based in Hungerford, who are looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant as a result of an internal promotion. They have onsite parking, and lots of opportunity for progression and development.

Your new role

• Responsible for timely and thorough risk focussed review of monthly accounts received from each reporting unit (Group, UK, US, South Africa, Netherlands) and compilation of the monthly consolidated board pack for the Director of Group Finance and CFO's review. Ability to identify and communicate commercial risks. Balance sheet and income statement reviews. Accounting under UK GAAP (FRS 102)

• Driving continuous improvement in quality of financial accounting within the regions by identifying improvement points and monitoring implementation of those points by regions

• Actual vs. budget/forecast vs. trend analysis and commentary

• Assisting with covenant reporting and compliance

• Monitoring, developing and reporting financial KPIs - e.g. AR days, operating cash flow -> net cash from operations conversion efficiency

• Assisting with consolidation work (multiple jurisdictions and currencies), disclosures (FRS102), impairment reviews, dealing with auditor queries. Business combination accounting and bring acquisitions into group reporting as soon as practicable following acquisition.

• Assistance with tax accounting and transfer pricing calculations

What you'll need to succeed

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• UK GAAP proficiency - experience of multiple currency consolidation
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint working knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation with both financial and non-financial colleagues
• Energetic, self-starter who relishes the challenges of a fast moving business environment
