Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation, based in Moreton In Marsh, Gloucestershire to recruit for a dynamic and hands-on Assistant Accountant for a Maternity Cover Contract (15 months fixed term - initially). Working closely with colleagues across the business the scope of the role will encompass everything from completing routine accounting tasks to helping the Financial Controller and management team with preparing budgets, monthly accounts and general finance system administration.


Your new role

Working along-side two other finance professionals within the team, reporting directly into the Financial Controller you will support in a broad finance position encompassing general ledgers, credit control, debtors, supplier management along with management information reporting. You will assist in the preparation of monthly accounts, variance analysis, budget preparation and along with general system and financial administration. There is scope to be involved in financial projects and reporting and take on more accounting processes to support the team and senior management if wanted.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this varied and exciting Assistant Accountant role- fixed term you will need experience within a similar role, ideally AAT/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified, candidates qualified by experience will be considered. You will need strong communication skills to work with various internal teams and external parties, a pro-active and hands-on attitude along with prior experience in a range of financial/administration systems (including MS Excel). It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience within the not-for-profit sector, sage 50 packages with the ability to manipulate data.
