Financial Controller (Leading to Finance Director) Manchester City Centre £40,000-£60,000 negotiable dependant on experience Benefits Package Start Date - ASAP Bridgewater Finance Group are one of the UK's most well-established financial solutions providers. Role We are excited to be recruiting for a Financial Controller to working directly with the Board of Directors to ensure the efficient management of the Finance Department. The right candidate will be working towards an appointment as Finance Director, potentially into CFO. Reporting into the Board of Directors, primary responsibilities will be: To be responsible for the development and management of the financial strategy in the BFG 5 year plan, ensuring that the Group has a long term, economically sustainable plan; Develop and manage the Group's 3-5-year budget projections Manage the Group's annual budget; Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company; Work well with the Board of Director's and Heads of Department to assist with high level decisions about policy and strategy; Review financial reports for ways to reduce costs; To be accountable for the leadership of the Group's Financial and IT management processes and procedures, developing an effective and efficient shared service for all stakeholders within the Group; In partnership with the Board produce and monitor annual budgets; To lead the delivery of sound and rigorous financial management practices and processes ensuring that the Group's money is always safeguarded and used appropriately; To lead the delivery of sound and rigorous financial management practices and processes ensuring that Client's money is always safeguarded and used appropriately; Manage the Group's Balance sheet to include; reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, control account reconciliations; Prepare and submit to the Board accurate and timely monthly consolidated management accounts to include; variance analysis, balance sheet, key financial indicators and cash flow projections as well as a summary of the financial position of each company in the Group; Monitor and evaluate expenditure and implement procedures to ensure robust financial management processes are in place in all the Group's Companies; Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations. Manage cash flow forecasting and ensure regular monitoring, reconciliation and forecasting of cash balances. Person Specification You will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to organise own and others work to meet business needs. You will be a capable and confident decision maker, with strong communication skills at Stakeholder Management with the ability to inspire confidence and create trust. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIMA equivalent), ideally with experience within a rapid growth business in the retail/consumer finance/FMCG sector. You will be up to date with IT terminology so you can converse with stakeholders about development projects.
