Calling all Financial accountants for a Senior Finance officer role located in Rugby, Warwickshire. Are you comfortable in a fast paced working environment? Would you say you are analytically excellent, and timely?

CV21 2QU Pay rate: 15.00 LTD Per hour Working Hours: 37 (Monday-Friday 9-5) Start Date: Monday 21st October Contract: Ongoing main responsibilities of the Financial Services team include: Co-ordination and preparation of the Council's revenue and capital budgets for General Fund and Housing Revenue Account activity. Co-ordination and reporting on revenue and capital budget monitoring. Completion of year-end accounts for capital and revenue for both the General Fund and the Housing Revenue Account and Production of the Council's Statement of Accounts, including all the Whole of Government Accounts. Providing financial expertise for and attending various officer working parties and Committee meetings. Providing budget advice and assistance on finance related matters. Co-ordination and completion of statutory and non-statutory returns. Co-ordination and calculation of the council tax amount, including preparing the information for the council tax leaflet. Co-ordination and production of various strategies including the Council's Medium Term Financial Plan and Strategy, Treasury Management Strategy, Capital Strategy etc. Treasury Management activities including monitoring investments, the Council's bank account and managing cash flow. Payroll activities and Creditor activities. 1.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.1Assist with the preparation of revenue and capital budgets and budget monitoring, taking specific responsibility for aspects of these and ensuring all information is meaningful and relevant to the intended audience. 1.2Assist with the completion of year end accounts and production of the Council's Financial Statements and Whole of Government Accounts. You may have specific responsibility for aspects of these. 1.3Assist with and where appropriate prepare and calculate financial information for Government returns. 1.4Assist with the preparation for and implementation of changes to accounting regulations. 1.5Assist with the process for calculation of charging for internal services (SLAs) and any other such accounting requirements which affect revenue accounts. 1.6Assist with bringing together all the information to calculate the council tax amount, information for the Council Tax leaflet and calculating the individual amounts for the tax bills. 1.7Assist with calculations for financial evaluation / analysis and risk identification resulting in robust financial data that can be relied upon. 1.8Assist with and contribute to the reporting of financial implications and advice, ensuring all information presented is relevant and complete in order for informed decisions to be made by the Council, including the production of Appendices for Panel/Cabinet reports and special projects. 1.9Assist with the preparation of information for various financial plans, strategies and publications. 1.10Challenging services where appropriate on proposals which affect the Council's financial resources. 1.11Provide financial and general assistance to all service managers as appropriate. 1.12Maintain the Council's Asset Register. 1.13Maintain the Council's Financial Management System including updating for budget adjustments. 1.14Update performance management systems. 1.15Undertake reconciliations. 1.16Assist with other duties across the wider financial services team, including Payroll and Creditors. 1.17Any other appropriate duties as requested
