This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Finance Assistant in the area of Ealing Start date: ASAP Hours: 35 hours Mon to Fri (09:00:AM - 05:00:PM)

Salary:
£13.40 PAYE 3 Months To be responsible for assisting in the efficient and effective provision of a comprehensive client financial affairs function for Deputyship, Appointeeship (Community and Residential), in accordance with statutory requirements, policies and procedures. To be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Deputyship and Appointeeship function, acting on behalf of the customer in line with the requirements of the Department for Work and Pensions, ensuring all statutory obligations of the post are fulfilled. Including maximising receipt of benefits, timely submission of welfare benefit applications and reporting of changes of circumstances affecting client's benefit entitlement. To be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Deputyship and Appointeeship function, acting on behalf of and protecting the everyday financial interests of customers ensuring all statutory obligations of the post are fulfilled including processing their everyday financial transactions and ensuring adequate supporting documentation is maintained. To provide assistance and support in the effective provision of the property protection and statutory funeral service as and when required An understanding of financial administration procedures and processes including reconciliations of customer accounts Knowledge of welfare benefit entitlement rules and legislation An understanding of the Mental Capacity Act Ability to communicate effectively both in person, in writing and on the telephone with staff, external agencies, customers and their representatives Ability to deal effectively with queries and to provide appropriate advice as required Ability to deal with high volume workloads ensuring that targets and deadlines are achieved while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy is maintained Ability to create and maintain spreadsheet software, in particular MS Excel An understanding of the Equalities and Diversity policy, in relation to staff and service provision An understanding of Health and Safety requirements, in relation to staff and service provision Experience of working in teams and using own initiative to undertake day to day tasks in line with the team's and the organisation's policies and procedures Consultant: Sarah Gillan Telephone: The application process is subject to the successful completion of background and reference checking.
