Interim Group Financial Controller The Role Ignata Finance are exclusively working with a fast growing retail brand in London to recruit an interim Group Financial Controller. This person will be vital in improving and professionalising the finance function so that it can better support the business. There is a real need to develop timely and accurate reporting and balance sheet controls. The business needs to develop its group accounting and reporting capability, so someone who has experience working in a large group structure would be ideal. Multi-site, and multi stock experience is vital. Key
responsibilities:
Develop robust group accounting function: consolidated management reporting Lead, develop and mentor direct reports & wider finance team Development and improvement of subsidiary management account reporting - timeliness, format, accuracy Ownership and critical review of monthly management reporting Group wide commercial reporting - daily, weekly, monthly cadence Delivery of budgets and forecasts, including weekly short-term cash flow Working closely to support finance team with developing robust monthly reporting to a common format with common KPIs Group treasury activities - cash management, lender reporting, bank relationships, covenant compliance Year end audit & operational relationships with external auditors and other advisers Support with ad hoc finance and business change projects Ensure balance sheet integrity - both controls and process; an area which needs focus Responsibility for group tax matters and relationships with tax advisers Key experience and skills required: Has experience working in a Group of companies Demonstrable capability in producing consolidated accounts, stakeholder reporting Technically strong, with balance sheet focus and strong financial reporting knowledge Familiar with bank reporting, covenant compliance, cash management Big 4 practice background Team development, leadership expertise critical - teams going through rapid change and need appropriate support Multi-site and stock retail experience Can help the business and FD define what a 'best in class' finance function looks like and how to achieve it over time
