Description
The key responsibilities for this Preston based Financial Controller role will be as follows:
- Team management and development
- Statutory reporting of the European global companies - supported by an ACA qualified accountant who will report into you
- Work alongside the Finance Director for significant acquisitions, and merging new acquisitions into the group
- Main point of contact for the audit - challenge and work alongside the external audit team
- Full responsibility for European and other global subsidiaries
- Monthly contact with senior stakeholders
- Ad hoc analysis work - looking for trends, spotting risks and opportunities
- IFRS 16 reporting
- Responding to queries from group e.g. analysis of variance to plan
- Leading the group function, making an improvements to processes as you see fit
Profile
The successful candidate for this ACA qualified Financial Controller role based close to Preston will be:
- ACA fully qualified - ideally from a big 4 / top 10 background
- Technically strong - prior UK GAAP or IFRS reporting experience
- Either an Audit Manager making a first step from practice into industry, or a 2nd / 3rd time mover looking for a step up
- Able to work in an evolving, growing business with ambitious growth plans and extremely high standards for perfection within their finance function
- A capable team manager, able to nurture talent
- Ideally have prior experience of group accounting in a large international business
