Global Tax Risk Senior Manager The Taste This role reports to the Head of Tax Reporting and its scope covers the management and coordination of the Global tax service contract with EY; leading, developing and adopting the global tax risk and control framework; supporting market risk and control reporting and the external reporting procedures. It is part of the Global Tax team and collaborates with number of internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis including our markets, other tax teams and 3rd party vendors. The areas of the business you will support and who you will work with are Finance and Tax Business Partners and operational teams - Develop and maintain a strong working relationship and keeping up to date with business priorities and developments, act as a trusted business advisor in order to challenge and support the markets in improving overall tax risk management and reporting Specialist finance functions - Collaborate with finance functions as required to deliver end to end finance services to markets Tax Compliance, Reporting teams - Collaborate to provide high quality and timely tax reporting Governance, GRC & Change - Support delivery of changes / improvements to tax processes and controls Tax Authorities - Contribute to the management of the relationship and discussions with authorities on tax audits or tax enquiries External Advisors - Support the relationship with external tax advisors and hold them to account for the delivery of timely, cost effective and value add tax advice Ingredients 1.Managing the global tax contract with our 3rd party vendor, including proactive relationship building with the central management team; improving and establishing effective global reporting processes; evaluating and improving the tax service delivered by EY; bringing closer Diageo markets to EY local teams; defining the scope of the contract. the reporting deliverables and timelines; and driving Diageos tax connectivity agenda. 2. Defining and leading the global tax risk and control framework including the coordination and review of the Global Tax Risk Management Committees, market tax risk, CARM and KPI reporting and uncertain tax position reporting. This person is responsible for setting up and overseeing the end to end control environment of Global Tax and to manage the relationship with CARM and the external control audit. 3.Active engagement in the management and monitoring of market tax risks. Advising, guiding and educating stakeholders on key tax issues to enable the business to adopt and adhere to relevant tax policies and standards, and mitigate tax risk. 4.Provide tax support to market-initiated projects to ensure tax strategies and policies are adhered to and opportunities to deliver tax efficiencies are identified and fully evaluated. 5.Support the tax compliance, financial and reporting obligations of the markets and the group, including P12 reporting. 6.Supporting the internal and external reporting requirements for the Group including timely and accurate production of specific tax sections of the Diageo Information pack, Group accounts and other relevant analyses and presentation from the group consolidation reporting system. Supporting the change effort required to deliver Fast Close for tax reporting. Supporting the automation and simplification of the tax reporting process. How to Serve At least 3-4 years of senior leadership experience and at least 3 years of tax/ audit experience Tax and accounting qualifications University or College Degree Fluent Business English Experience within a tax or reporting function in a global multinational or a tax advisor/ audit firm preferred Experience of managing financial risk and controls Broad understanding of key domestic and international tax issues and risk management framework Understanding and experience in SoX reporting and control framework Experience in project and external stakeholder management Proactive thinking to identify ways to consistently deliver improvement of performance and the drive to put those changes in place Understanding of needs of stakeholders and effective and timely stakeholder management Effective project management and implementation skills Proactive risk management mindset and continuous monitoring of the external environment Cherry on Top Opportunity to climb up on the career ladder We won the Fittest Workplace Award, of course we have a Gym Urban legend is true, we do have a Rooftop Bar Easy to reach downtown location Our unique brands are available in our staff shop We live our values and color our lives
